Rochester Gauges 6580-00164 (6580-164) Fuel Gauge for Boston Whaler

The 6580-00164, also referred to as the 6580-164, from Rochester Gauges is a senior, fixed length model designed to fit the 63 gallon Florida Marine Tank inside many vintage Boston Whalers. This gauge is manufactured for us by special order and it comes as it was originally designed along with (4) 1⁄4"-28 x 9⁄16" mounting bolts and a Buna-N gasket.  The original aluminum bezel dial, P/N 5002S00062 aka Dial No. 5-62, is included with 6580-164.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Most vintage Boston Whalers have a fuel tank flange that is not threaded for the included (4) 1⁄4"-28 x 9⁄16" zinc plated steel mounting bolts that the manufacturer includes.  Instead, the Whaler tank requires the gauge to be mounted with longer bolts and nylon lock nuts.  We sourced all the parts needed and offer a bolt kit that includes (4) 1/4"-28 x 7/8" bolts and (4) 1/4"-28 nylock nuts, all 316 stainless steel rather than the original zinc plated steel.  

The original gasket was a small flat ring while a new version exists that is a die-cut template of the gauge head. The newer gasket is designed to seal much better than the original, which left a gap for debris to get between the gauge head and tank flange.  We offer the gauge as it originally shipped, or as a “Full Kit” that includes the 316 stainless steel bolt kit and die cut gasket.  Both options are available from the product drop-down menu.
